Isaiah speaks Messianically—The people in darkness to see a great Light—Unto us a child is born—He shall be the Prince of Peace and shall reign on David’s throne—Compare Isaiah 9. Between 559 and 545 B.C.
Again, I'm trying to read in the kitchen, while my kids are asking "Is this my drink?" "Can I play webkinz?" "Mommy, are you done yet?" etc. etc. So, I'm not totally sure of everything I just read. But, I think I got the main point of this chapter. Isaiah is speaking about the Messiah and the conditions that will surround his birth. This got me thinking about a movie we watched last night, Evan Almighty, and how it's difficult for people to listen to the prophets of their day. Sometimes, until it's too late.
